Michigan Golfer Reviews the SQAIRZ ProS2 Golf Shoe

Michigan Golfer’s Terry Moore put the SQAIRZ ProS2 through months of use and scores of walking rounds, evaluating how the shoe performed where it matters most to him: over 18 holes on foot.

Moore’s assessment centered on the ProS2’s comfort, distinctive square toe box, integrated Blumaka performance footbed, and construction details. His overall takeaway was positive, beginning simply: “First off, they’re comfortable.”

A Different Approach to the Toe Box

One of the ProS2’s most recognizable features is its patented square toe box. Moore noted that the shape is visually distinctive, but said there is “some sound thinking behind it.”

According to the article, the design allows the toes to spread more naturally and evenly. After comparing the ProS2 with other golf shoes he has worn, Moore reported noticing a difference in balance and stability while walking and swinging, even if he characterized the change as subtle rather than dramatic.

Comfort That Stood Out Over 18 Holes

Moore also highlighted the ProS2’s integrated Blumaka performance footbed as a positive feature.

Blumaka’s insoles are designed to provide additional cushioning, comfort, and shock absorption. Moore said he personally noticed the difference while walking and playing full 18-hole rounds, making the footbed one of the shoe’s standout comfort features in his review.

The Idea Behind the Square

The review also explored the origin of the SQAIRZ concept. Moore traced the idea back to founder and CEO Bob Winskowicz arriving at a golf course without his golf shoes and practicing instead in square-toed dress shoes.

According to the article, Winskowicz noticed how the shape felt during the swing and began exploring whether a square-toe design could offer advantages in golf footwear. Following years of research, development, and consultation with footwear engineers and sports science experts, SQAIRZ launched in 2019.

Small Details Moore Appreciated

Beyond the larger design features, Moore called attention to two smaller construction details: the ProS2’s laces and eyelets.

He described the laces as sturdy and well made and viewed the eyelet construction favorably, particularly in comparison with another pair of golf shoes he had owned where a lace eventually tore through an unreinforced eyelet.

For Moore, those details contributed to the overall positive impression of the shoe.

Michigan Golfer’s Take

After wearing the SQAIRZ ProS2 for months and walking scores of rounds in them, Moore added the shoe to his list of golf footwear he views favorably.

His assessment emphasized comfort first, followed by the noticeable effects he experienced from the square toe design and Blumaka footbed. And when it comes to the ProS2’s unconventional shape, Moore closed with a fitting line: “It’s hip to be square.”
