At just 11 years old, Carter Lee is already turning heads on the baseball field. A key player for the Phoenix Baseball Club, Carter splits his time between right field and second base, two spots where his athleticism and instincts shine.
“Right field, you get to make diving plays,” Carter says with a grin. “And at second base, you can turn double plays with the shortstop.”
But what really makes Carter stand out is his love for the game. Ask him about his favorite moment, and his eyes light up. “Two years ago, bases loaded, we were down by two. I hit a bases-clearing triple to walk it off. That was the end of the game… we won.”
It’s the kind of moment every young athlete dreams of, and for Carter, it’s just one of many.
How Carter Found SQAIRZ
Carter’s journey with SQAIRZ started when he met Chad and Heather at one of the brand’s first Arizona camps. “He was the only kid who showed up that day,” his family laughs. That chance connection turned into a lasting relationship, with Carter continuing to train and improve alongside the SQAIRZ team over the past two years.
Before the GFP™ cleats, Carter wore Nike Trout cleats. But after making the switch, he immediately felt the difference.
“I saw an increase in exit velocity, and I felt like I was staying more balanced,” Carter says. “Not just when I was hitting, but when I was running too.”
For Carter, it’s about what those shoes help him do. The GFP™ design is made to improve balance, boost power, and help players like Carter get the most out of every swing, every step, every play.
He’s even made SQAIRZ part of his everyday life, wearing his turf shoes off the field because they’re just that comfortable.
The Big Goals Ahead
Carter is laser-focused on refining his game this season. “I’m working on staying tall in the batter’s box and driving the ball up the middle,” he explains. “I want to stop pulling off or pushing it the other way.”
He looks up to Alek Thomas, one of MLB’s best defensive centerfielders, and channels that same determination into his own play: staying sharp, playing smart, and always looking to improve.
His advice to other young players just starting out is simple but powerful:
“Work on the small things first, and the big things will come.”
Next Stop: Cooperstown
This June, Carter heads to Cooperstown for a full week of tournament play, one of the most exciting experiences in youth baseball. With his talent, mindset, and love for the game, there’s no doubt Carter is ready to make his mark on that stage.
