Forbes – Golf Shoe Startup SQAIRZ Challenges Curvature Conventions

Increasingly strict shelter-in-place directives to combat the scourge of coronavirus have put a damper on multiple forms of recreation across the country. But a golf shoe startup bent on challenging curvature conventions hopes holed-up golfers will use this downtime to consider trying something a little different when they’re able to get back in the swing of things.

There’s a long history of shapeshifting products in golf, radical departures that break the mold and completely reconceive the way we experience equipment. Callaway’s original Big Bertha driver, Ping Zing irons, Odyssey’s 2-ball putter, and SuperStroke’s oversized Fatso putter grips all turned heads upon release before becoming ubiquitous. If all goes according to plan SQAIRZ founder Bob Winskowicz hopes his unique square-toed golf shoes will gain the same traction as the aforementioned design marvels.
